Shaun Evans at Macmillan's Celebration of Christmas

This year's Macmillan's Celebration of Christmas will be held the 6th of December, in Christ Church Cathedral. Shaun Evans will be a reader along with Roger Allam, Patricia Hodge and Sally Philips. A Celebration of Christmas has become Macmillan’s largest single fund-raising event in Oxfordshire.
The event will be followed by a VIP Champagne Reception, tickets for which are included with gold seats, but can be purchased by other ticket holders separately on the booking site.

Dear Ria,
thank you for your question - the concert was so phantastic, the programme very well balanced, choir, readers, sing-along parts for the public (I learned a few new songs I did not know before), dynamic directions (stand and sit) - and the Bishop's blessing at the end. It was so marvelous, just incredible somehow. I think my favourite reading was the Christmas Poem Roger Allam read, it was really touching; it was quite obvious to me that others might have felt similar; and I very much enjoyed the dialogue reading between Shaun Evans and Roger Allam, of course.
It was the first time I visited that concert, I hope I/we (my husband and me) will be back another year as well, it was so wonderful!!! Being there was such a thrill and I never had a birthday like this before!
I am very happy the trailer was published on shaun-evans-web, otherwise I wouldn't have had any knowledge about the concert at all.
I am sorry I can't provide any pictures as I was told it was not allowed to take photographs, the only thing I have is the booklet to the concert with all the words and lyrics in it.

Telling my impressions of that most wonderful concert, I'd like to add some more:
I also enjoyed the quite remarkable way Shaun Evans and Roger Allam used their voice and their accents (compared with their way of speaking on Endeavour), I loved Shaun Evans' perfect 'sotto voce' giving just a hint of singing (Good King Wenceslas ... on the feast of Stephen) during his reading, so the reading wasn't interrupted; very soft voice, so sensitive, so beautiful!
I will never forget that concert and I definitely want to return. Many thanks to everybody contributing to that wonderful event in whatever way; it was such a blessing; all the best to you all!

Hi Conny, thank you so much for your reply. The 2nd part you added answered what I wanted to hear about the readings. Someone on twitter wrote their reading together was brilliant and 'that not one missed cue.' Very glad you could be a witness to this! Just wish there were some audio of it.
